“You may as well know this too, Timothy, that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian.” —2 Timothy 3:1, TLB
Beloved, The Christian life is not a stroll through comfort—it is a pilgrimage through resistance. We are not called to blend in, but to stand out. Scripture tells us plainly: “The way to live a godly life is not an easy matter” (1 Timothy 3:16, TLB). And yet, we are not left to navigate the narrow road alone.
We walk in the footsteps of Christ—He who came in flesh, remained pure, and was lifted in glory. Our invitation to live differently is not grounded in rules, but in relationship. This is not moralism—it is union with the One who overcame the world.
To live Christian is to live contrary. Contrary to self-indulgence. Contrary to cultural compromise. Contrary to fear. But this “contrary” life is drenched in grace and marked by glory. It is the life where Christ lives in us and through us.
Beloved, living a Christian life is challenging. We are called to stand out, not blend in. As Scripture says: “The way to live a godly life is not an easy matter” (1 Timothy 3:16, TLB). Yet, we do not walk this path alone—we follow Christ, who lived purely and triumphed. This journey is about relationship, not rules.
To live as Christians means going against self-indulgence, cultural compromise, and fear. But this contrarian life is full of grace and glory, with Christ living through us.
Reflect:
- What has been the cost of your faith lately?
- Where might God be inviting you into deeper distinction?
- Who in your life needs to see what holiness looks like in motion?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You that You did not hide the weight of this calling. Give me the courage to walk the narrow way. Strengthen my heart to reflect Your truth and resist the pull of comfort. Keep me set apart, not for pride, but for Your purposes. Amen.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
