Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Last time, we started to discuss what God’s will is and looked at some other wills that exist on the earth. With the understanding of the role man’s will plays in the fulfillment of God’s plan on the earth, we must know what God’s will for our lives is, so we can rightly position ourselves for its fulfillment.
God has not kept us in the dark. There are many ways through which God communicates His mind to us and you can ask for the will of God is over any matter. Let’s look at some of the avenues through which we know the will of God:
- In His word. God’s word is pertinent to every to every area of life. No matter where you are on the ladder of life, there is a word for every aspect of your life. What sustains is not what you can provide for yourself but what the word of God makes available to you, Matthew 4:4; Psalm 119:9,15. The truths that give direction are released when you take time to meditate on God’s word.
- In His voice, Deuteronomy 4:12. God communicates using light and sound that is not English or Spanish or any language. We then relay the information in pictures and words that is understood on this side of eternity. However, you must be careful to run every such communication you receive by the word of God. Any misalignment will reveal the presence of a familiar spirit. The word of God is the final authority.
- In your dreams, Daniel 2:28-29. God communicates through dreams, like the one King Nebuchadnezzar had. That is why every effort of the devil to make you forget your dreams is an attack.
- In your thoughts. God speaks through thoughts taken in your regenerated mind. Again, be careful to discern and separate thoughts from God from those that originate from hell. How many times, have you missed God’s communication because you dismissed them as random thoughts. Pay attention to your thoughts, and develop the ecosystem of your mind such that it is easy for God to use your mind to communicate with you. Also, ensure that you don’t interact with wrong spirits, especially through media you consume, so the devil has no opportunity to seed thoughts in your mind.
- Through God-ordained leadership over you. If it is only God that can talk to you for you to obey, you are SAVED but not SAFE. This is because there are some things that God will not communicate to you directly; He will come to you through those He has placed in charge of you. As close as Moses was with God, it was Jethro who told him how to administer the Israelites. You must learn to open your heart and receive the ministry different people must play in your life. It is not more spiritual to receive communication directly from God, and it does not make you any lesser to submit to authority.
Let me reiterate that the word of God is the final authority. Every other means of communication must be checked side by side with the word of God and the word must have the final say. Next time, we will discuss how the will of God finds expression on the earth.
