Ephesians 4:8 NKJV
“Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”
Beloved,
Another God-given gift we must be intentional about using is His name.
Philippians 2:7-10 says:
“…but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.”
When Christ gave His life to fulfill God’s plan for man, God giving Him a name of above every other name. Christ, in His marvelous mercy, gave us, in turn, the ability to use His name to enjoy and present to to others His grace, ability to set free, heal and deliver and to grant us divine access. Peter was among the first to understand this:
Acts 3:6-7 says:
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
The next chapter helps us understand better what Peter is showing us how to enjoy:
Acts 4:7-10
And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, “By what power or by what name have you done this?” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.”
The name of Jesus is a grace that gives us access. Show God you are grateful for the gifts He has made available by receiving them, telling Him thank you and using them for His glory. Enjoy the gift of divine access to Father and all He has made available to you now and forever, in Jesus’ name. Once you master the enjoyment and stewardship of this and all of the precious gifts of God, cultivating the heart and habits of your heavenly Father will be your pleasure.
I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace. I call you blessed and nations.
