Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Giving keeps us humble and grateful. It is a subtle way to kill the flesh so that we are better able to thrive spiritually.
There is a level giving that serves as your acknowledgment of God as your source. Everywhere we acknowledge God as first in our lives and as the source of our lives, we are privileges to enjoy Him as a force of blessings and provision. If you feel you have not received anything from God lately (you know, besides life, abundantly and new mercy, daily) ask yourself, what have I given Him lately. How has Christ been reflected in my giving?
Please note that your giving unto the Lord is not limited to monetary resources alone. We are to give and tithe of our time, talent and all of out resources. Start by thanking God for ALL He has given you. Then surrender it all back to Him. Ask God what you should do with all He has entrusted into your care and steward it accordingly. Let it smell honorably to Him. Don’t just give Him what you have left. If anything, surrender all to Him until you have nothing left. When you do this it’s only a matter of time before you see you have everything you need and more.
