Journey to Wealth III
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18, KJV
Beloved,
True wealth and the journey towards it is a spiritual affair, not a material one. It is not possible for anyone who claims to be a believer to become truly wealthy without first understanding the source and purpose of their increase. This is why I have used the last two posts to explain to you this important aspect of God’s character and personality. This is why I have been stressing your role as a joint-heir with Christ Jesus. You must know your inheritance. You must know who you are called to look like. If you don’t know these, the devil can effortlessly deceive you into relegating your role and birthright. Or he can help you squander it.
Beloved, you were called to prosper. It is not possible to truly enjoy God and call yourself a son of His without having a wealth mindset. But you can’t do such with a poverty mentality.
As a joint-heir with Christ Jesus, wealth is your inheritance and birthright. It’s a blessing that can make you a blessing. Covet it earnestly. Desire it as Jacob did (Genesis 27-28). You can not afford to trivialize it and trade it for stew or for what can only offer pseudo-satisfaction (Genesis 25:29-35). Learn from Esau. Don’t trivialize blessed things (Genesis 25). Learn from Abraham who earned his title as “father of nations” not by what his almost hundred year circumstance looked like. He trusted the promises of God and qualified himself for what only God can do. The blessings of God are generational; they are not sensational. There are many people with money who aren’t wealthy. They have not mastered an understanding of money as spiritual.
Tomorrow, we will discuss the desire for true wealth and the ability to steward it properly.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
