DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

II Samuel 3:1 NKJV

Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

Beloved,

Until Christ returns, there will be the battles of life. The advantage we have as fully surrendered believers in Christ Jesus, Son of the living God is that our victory is sure. If you have given Him your life, triumph is your default experience. His victory over death, hell and the grave is your victory on every side for as long as you are on this side of eternity.

As a Christian who is living according to the Word and will of God, your success is sure. He will go before you and deal with some things on your behalf. But, beloved, you will still have to fight. When you see a potential problem, deal with it immediately! Do not be casual about it. Do not allow Satan to discourage or distract you with fear or anything else that wants to render you hopeless. Be reminded of people who overcame to overcome in scripture and be encouraged. In fact, let’s look at a few people who found themselves in bad situations that eventually ended in victory once they made the decision to combat their battles in life by faith:

  • The woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-21). She never stopped looking for a healthy solution to her ailment until she found Him.
  • The Shunammite woman (2 Kings 4:23,26). She faced the agony of child loss but kept her reasoning before God’s servant. She teaches us that when you don’t know what to do, you must know where to go.
  • Job (Job 2:9-10). “Then his wife said to him, ‘Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!’ But he said to her, ‘You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?’ In all this Job did not sin with his lips.”

See how God has given us examples of those who sought the help of God, the Word of God and the touch of God in their time of distress. As it pertains to the battles of life, you will only lose if you forget the God of your salvation. Trust Him, His Word, His will and His strategy and provisions for you in life and win!

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
