Mountains That Must Surround Your Life
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity.
Psalm 125:1-3, NKJV
Beloved,
Your life is precious. It is so precious to God, the Creator of all things, that He sent His only begotten Son as an insurance policy for your sake because anything that is of great value must be protected. David, understood this. For our benefit, he shares with us what he learned about the safety net God has provided for us. As we can see from the passage above, He Himself surrounds us. He has provided a hedge of protection to keep us safe.
These are structures in which He has embedded Himself for our sake. I will name a few of these structures for us today. The first I will introduce is the mountain of favor. The Bible says this:
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
Psalm 5:12, NKJV
Many believers have fallen into the trap of believing that favor is optional or for people who are lucky. Favor is the inheritance of the righteous. It is required for anyone who will fulfill destiny. If you are treading the course of your destiny journey without favor, beloved, you are in danger. Ensure you put a structure in place that provokes favor to flow in your direction. Some ways to accomplish this is through the forces of honor and that of obedience- obedience to the Holy Spirit and to those who God has ordained to cover you. May God give you the wisdom and grace to take heed in Jesus’ mighty name.
Another important mountain that must surround you is the mountain of your destiny team.
A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan. Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks? This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in; Yes, the LORD will dwell in it forever.
Psalm 68:15-16, NKJV
Your destiny team consists of those people God has ordained to help you take every step in the right direction. There is a counsel I always give to my members: always surround yourself with people who are older than you, people who are younger than you, people who are wiser than you, and people who are farther along in life than you. Such people, if God has ordained them for your life, will keep you safe and on track. You cannot do destiny alone. Be sure to have the mountain of your destiny team in place.
Finally for today, another critical mountain that you must have in place is the mountain of integrity and uprightness. The Bible says:
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.
Psalm 25:21, NKJV
As scripture teaches us, it is integrity and uprightness, that is, our alignment with God’s word in both speech and in action, that truly keep us safe. They preserves us. There is another scripture that says this:
The Lord saves the righteous and protects them in times of trouble.
Psalm 37:39
As you keep God’s will, He keeps you. We will cover more next time.
