He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Beloved,
What is that thing God is delivering you from, yet you keep running after it? Failure of a man in one or more dimension of life may be due to his failure to stay within the boundary of protection God has drawn for him. Using Jonah as a model, we can learn that everytime you are running away from something, you are running towards something. Though he was in Nineveh, his heart was not there. So, everytime God delivered him from problems, he fell into new ones because of a lack of commitment to the assignment God gave him.
You must be able to recognize things God is delivering you from so you can avoid them and prevent recurring negative cycles. Let’s look at some traits usually common to such things.
Things God is delivering you from but you keep running after include things you are emotionally attached to. Jonathan exemplified this trait with his emotional attachment to father, King Saul. Jonathan knew, even prophesied about David’s rise to the throne and his role in . Yet, his attachment to his father resulted in his displacement from the plans of God for him. Consider Abraham too, God had to separate him from his father’s house to get him to the Promised Land.
My father in destiny says, “ emotion is the greatest assassin of destiny ”. You cannot fulfill destiny to the best of God’s plan for you once you allow emotions to rule you and join you to wrong things. If you do not tame your emotions, it will tame you and destroy you. Note that emotions are not inherently bad, they just be brought under the control of the Spirit.
