Take some time to reflect on and appreciate miracles you have enjoyed over time. This is an important practice that I pray we all take seriously. Ask the Israelites who enjoyed extraordinary miracles… and still built a golden calf to worship. Taking our time to appreciate the wonderful, unexplainable things God has allowed us to witness and experience is the key to enjoying more of God. I don’t know about you, but I tend to do more for people who appreciate it than I will for an ingrate, even if it’s my own child, to be sincere. Out God is God of abundance, and He wants to do more for us than ensure we have the basics. So the first thing I want to share about how to enjoy miracles today is to appreciate them. One way to show we appreciate them is through our testimony. Now, for those of us who have enjoyed miracles- the kind we have not been grateful for- such as the miracle of sustenance (which is a marvelous miracle, indeed!) … or that of supernatural increase and the rest, yet we fail to testify or do the work of the evangelist or steward the miracle well, my prayer is that today’s devotional helps us to get back on track.
Deuteronomy 8:2:
“And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.”
Here, God instructs the Israelites to remember all He had done for them. When we forget, its gives the devil an opportunity to dash us an ungrateful heart or to become proud and entitled. Why would devil do that? He wants us to have a heart God cannot work with.
Beloved, forgetfulness is the antithesis of miracles. God has a marvelous track record. He will get the glory. Do not miss out on the privilege and wonder it is to give thanks and praises to your heavenly Father and to share the wonderful things God has done with others.
Reflect on these:
- What miracles am I still enjoying the benefits of to this day?
- While I am expecting and waiting for another miracle, am I taking my time to tell others about the wonderful things God has done in my life? Am I celebrating God for and sharing the miracles recorded in scripture with others?
Prayer: Father, I worship You as the God of miracles. Have mercy on many for any time I exalt Your hand over Your love for me, Father. Thank you for doing what only You alone can do. I am grateful and expectant. If You never do another thing for me again, it won’t stop me from singing Your praises and being expectant.
I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace. I call you BLESSED and NATIONS
